The last author giveaway was yesterday, so now you just keep tweeting/sharing/commenting on all the authors' rafflecopters until August 9th.

After August 9th, I'll email the winners. There will NOT be a post saying who the winners are, you'll know when you receive an email. I want to point out that the people with the most entries are usually the people who win. If you tweet, share on social media, or do anything else to gain more entries your chance of winning goes up! I know this from experience; keep up with the entries!

You'll get an email from me - Rachel - so keep a look-out anytime after the 9th. I have over 50 people to email so it is possible that it will take me a few weeks.

The three characters in this book reminded me of my mom and her two sisters.  I liked how everything that went on intertwined the three and the adorable plot of the story-seriously, how cute is it that they came together to fulfill their mothers' dreams?  I really enjoyed the theme of female friendship and strong family bonds.  This book is the final in the series and ties up all loose ends (no annoying "what happened here" for the reader).  

There is a character for everyone to like...and hopefully more than one!  I really connected with Carolyn; her sweet and thoughtful nature drew me to her.  The author utilizes a lot of descriptions to accompany the beautiful area and aroma of Sam's dishes.  I was literally taken back in time to my old Nancy Drew days with this book.  Anyone looking for a lighthearted mystery with a wonderful ending should give this series a try.

                The characters and plot of Rosemary Cottage are fantastic.  This novel had me guessing until the end and rooting for Amy and Curtis as their romance developed.  I refuse to ruin the story, so I will not give away anymore!

The Princess Onyx™ children’s book series is an essential read for all children, especially little Black girls and their families. This book series addresses such topics as colorism, Black hair textures, Black female features, etiquette, and being friends with non-Blacks without apology.

Jaydah returns from school in tears, a mean classmate called her ugly because of her skin color.  Tata, Jaydah’s grandmother, then tells her a story about a princess named Jaydah.  Princess Jaydah’s parents protected her from the world, knowing that some of the citizens of their kingdom are not kind.  The princess is able to convince her parents to let her play with a group of children in the courtyard.  A lady-in-waiting escorts her outside and watches as Princess Jaydah interacts with the children.  They are playing a game, but already have full teams.  A poorly dressed girl is kicked off one of the teams to make room.  When Princess Jaydah asks why they kicked the girl off the team, a boy tells her that she is ugly and dark.

                The princess is horrified and resolves the situation by inviting the girl, Ebony, to come play in the castle.  Princess Jaydah’s father is proud of his little girl and builds a new wing on the castle and provides Ebony’s father with a job.  Jaydah and her grandmother then bake dark, chocolate brownies, calling them Princess Jaydah brownies!

                This sweet, inspiring story has a wonderful message and fun illustrations.  Any child would enjoy reading this book, learning from Jaydah’s experience and Tata’s story.

Although part of a series, Safe in His Arms can easily be read as a standalone novel.  Coble’s writing is detailed and her characters seem alive.  This is a great read for a rainy day that will be nearly impossible to put down.

Patrons are wealthy, beautiful, and can get away with murder - Literally.  Proxies are perpetually in debt and take the punishments for their patrons.  Syd is a proxy with an awful patron who is always in trouble, causing Syd to constantly be punished.  Knox has never actually met the boy who is penalized for his crimes, but Knox has watched Syd take his punishments.  This time is different though, Knox has murdered a girl; and Syd must suffer the consequences unless Knox is willing to take the punishment himself.

                Syd and Knox become real as the reader delves further into the pages of Proxy.  Both boys grow and develop as the novel progresses.  I loved following the boys’ journeys as well as the journeys of their friends.  I am eager to read the next book in the series. 

                London’s book pulls you into a horrible world of haves and have-nots.  Proxy comments on a million issues in our society today from homophobia to the disparity between the wealthy and poor.  Anyone would benefit from reading this novel and learn from what London has to say.

Blaze is named after a comic book character, but lives a quiet life helping her hardworking mother and shuttling her brother and his friends to and from soccer and school.  Spending her free time reading comics and creating her own superheroes, she wishes her life was more exciting.  After Mark, her brother’s seventeen year-old soccer coach, shows an interest in her, Blaze thinks her wishes have been granted!  Unfortunately, Mark’s attention is not as innocent as it should be...

                Blaze is a great heroine with awful friends and a wicked sense of humor.  Witty, loyal, and loving, Blaze is a blast to read about.  Drawings and loads of geek-tastic references to superheroes make Blaze a fun read although some of the content deals with serious issues.

                Laurie Boyle Crompton’s novel will help many girls make wise decisions about sexting, bullying, the rumor mill, and other ugly matters.  Any teen girl would benefit from reading Blaze’s story.

This collection is perfect for busy readers who appreciate a sweet historical love story and a good laugh!  I loved that I could enjoy a whole terrific story in one sitting.  Melvin Hitchcock, owner and editor of the Hitching Post Mail Order Bride Catalogue, definitely white washes all his catalogue ads in order to make the sale (the match).  You would NOT want to buy a used car from this man.  However, all of his editing of the advertisements - for brides and grooms - works out in wonderful ways.

I loved Brownley’s opening story.  What could be a better set up for a romance than a gambler’s daughter who travels all the way to Kansas from Georgia…especially if she insists on a fine Christian man while carrying her father’s lucky deck of cards with her?  Then, she finds out that her intended husband will never be able to meet her or anyone else again.  Her many attempts to ward off bad luck add to the fun – as do her skills on a penny whistle and ability to cook a possum.  I enjoyed the idiom that the author has her main character use; and I agree that with some people, it does feel “like you’re knocking at the door of an empty house.”    The scene in the churchyard when little Eddie finally talks to his deceased father…and then laughs up a storm with Mary-Jo touches your heart.

I could favorably describe any of these stories because they’re all unique; however, they all include well-meaning, loving, faith-filled people.  I wish my nieces and their friends could meet good guys like these who want to “properly court” them.  In the last story, David, thinking he’s dying, won’t make Megan his wife.  When he knows that he’s getting better, Megan complains that she doesn’t want to “go over the ranch accounts again” as he pulls her into the bedroom.  Romantic but clean…the stories respect their audiences.  As David says, learning some lessons can be much better than learning to ride a horse.  Learning to love the mail-order brides is easy!
