When you can see things others can't, what do you do when someone's watching you?
Everybody knows about Clarity "Clare" Fern. She's the psychic girl in school, the one who can place her hands on something and see hidden visions from the past.
Only Clare would rather not be a celebrity. She prefers hanging back, observing. Her gift is not a game to her.
But then someone starts playing with her head . . . and heart. Messages and gifts from a secret admirer crop up everywhere Clare turns. Could they be from Gabriel, the gorgeous boy who gets Clare's pulse racing? Or from Justin, Clare's hopeful ex-boyfriend who'd do anything to win her back?
One thing is certain. Clare needs to solve this mystery, and soon. Because the messages are becoming sinister, and a girl in town has suddenly disappeared.
Goodreads Summary
Clare Fern's life is changing and she isn't happy about it. The popular crowd are suddenly paying her attention-and causing trouble for her with her boyfriend-stealing enemy, Tiffany. Her brother is acting differently and she has to figure out which boy, Gabriel or Jason, she wants to stick with. Just when Clare thinks she has enough on her plate, a girl from her own school disappears and Clare really wants to help-against her mother's wishes.
The romance between Clare and Gabriel develops further in this book. The reader will probably root for one over the other right away, but there are some revelations later on in the book that will make this decision harder. Gabriel is always there for Clare, but Jason did demonstrate his love in a big way in the first novel in this series. The romance is not the focus, however; Clare develops a new friend...one that was close to the girl who ran away. The other characters are, of course, fun to get to know. They all have different impacts on Clare and it is interesting to see how those impacts play out.
The mystery itself will keep the reader in suspense throughout the novel. The author manages to keep that air of intrigue that is so crucial to a mystery's plot. The murderer's point of view is portrayed in parts of the novel, keeping the reader constantly aware of the evil permeating the novel. Clare has to figure out the mystery...or she may be next. This book is recommended to young adult/teen readers.

About Me
- Krystal Larson
- Chicago, Illinois, United States
- I'm a young college student who has probably read over 5000 books over the course of my short life; some of the books were classics, some of the books were terrific, and some of the books were...misses. Even with the latter part I will always believe in the power of books to completely remove the reader from his/her present reality. Long Live Books! I would love to read and review books from just about any genre. To contact me: edysicecreamlover18 AT gmail DOT com Thank you for your interest! At this time, I can only accept paperback or hardcover. The finished review copies I receive are either kept in my personal collection or donated to several libaries, schools, or charities-I have no control over the finished review copies after donation. *I claim no ownership for any images used on this site.
