Once you’ve seen, you can’t unsee. Everything changes when you’ve looked at the world through . . .

ANGEL EYES

Brielle’s a ballerina who went to the city to chase her dreams and found tragedy instead. She’s come home to shabby little Stratus, Oregon, to live with her grief and her guilt . . . and the incredible, numbing cold she can’t seem to shake.

Jake’s the new guy at school. The boy next door with burning hands and an unbelievable gift that targets him for corruption.

Something more than fate has brought them together. An evil bigger than both of them lurks in the shadows nearby, hiding in plain sight. Two angels stand guard, unsure what’s going to happen. And a beauty brighter than Jake or Brielle has ever seen is calling them to join the battle in a realm where all human choices start.

A realm that only angels and demons—and Brielle—can perceive.

Goodreads Summary

Everyone wants a fresh start at some point. When Brielle moves in with her dad she expects her life to normalize. Instead, more and more changes are thrown at her. Brielle finds herself in a battle she is not sure she can hope to win between demons and angels. Her hope for a normal life flies out the window as she navigates her new world.

Brielle meets Jake early on in the novel and their relationship grows from there. Jake is the perfect boyfriend for the most part. Charismatic and handsome, it isn't hard to see why Brielle would fall for him, though she does almost too quickly. Brielle is still adjusting to her present, but she hasn't overcome her past. The reader will learn bits and pieces from Brielle's past along the way and should have fun putting them together to see the complete picture. Though the story certainly has a religious bent, it isn't all-consuming or a make or break it type. The plot was well-written and should keep the readers on their toes. The ending will have the readers updating their wishlists for the next in the series. This book is recommended to young adult/adult readers.

Haha, I missed the giveaway, but that's okay! I actually just won a copy of Angel Eyes as a netgalley and it looks so good! I'm slightly worried about its religious themes, but I can't wait to give it a shot! It seems like such a great book.

I don't like over religious reads so glad to hear it's not all-consuming. Brielle and Jake sound cute and I am interested in seeing her past come together and see what is going on with her and Jake.
