Gavin and Nora are the "insta-love" type. Nora is a sweet girl who hasn't had the best chances in life; she hasn't been able to go to college, but lives with her kind foster mother. When she meets Gavin, she connects to him perfectly and that connection remains unbroken through the novel. Gavin is charismatic and handsome, he is the typical white knight in modern times. Although the plot is nice enough, their solid relationship was the focal point of the novel for me.
The plot itself is best explained by the Goodreads summary above. I admit that I was sometimes a little confused or had to reread some passages. The fantasy plot line did shine through and I enjoyed the different take on elves. The Dark Fey add a dark, harsh aspect to the book that breaks up the glow of young romance. They are the true antagonists and easy to hate. The author does a terrific job of creating the environment and developing the characters. This plot was definitely romance driven though. The romance was one of the more memorable ones for me in the YA genre. This book is recommended to young adult/teen readers.

Ah, the whole insta-love thing really worries me. I have trouble connecting with characters that fall for insta-love because they tend to never fully be fleshed out since everything is rushed. I think I'm going to pass on this book, but thanks for sharing!
