Shannon Hale has always been one of my favorite authors.  Her books take a reader into the story.  This novel is meant for adults, but could be enjoyed by younger readers as well.  The main character Charlotte is a super successful business woman who needs a vacation.  She and her husband recently divorced after he admitted to cheating on her.  The divorce wasn’t messy, but he took half the money she earned despite being absolutely undeserving of it.  After calling a travel agent, Charlotte learns of a vacation that would take her to Austenland, a manor in England that provides the Jane Austen experience.  Charlotte adores Jane Austen and is happy to temporarily leave her troubles and submerge herself in the world of her favorite author.  Quickly however, the dreamy world of Jane Austen becomes dangerous.  Charlotte stumbles upon a body, but no one believes her after the body vanishes.  Who is the culprit?
    There is romance and humor in this novel, as well as mystery and darkness.  I had a hard time putting this book down after I started reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen next!  I give this book five out of five stars.
