A few miles outside of the town of Windsor, Colorado, there was an abandoned farmhouse everyone called The Witch. It was a place where teenagers congregated, and rednecks sighted in their guns, but it was also a place that had a dark history. For years, nothing ever happened there, but one dark summer night a young couple is accosted by an angry mob of devil worshipers. The attack sets in motion a series of events that will rock the little town to its foundations.
Something sinister is brewing at the Witch, and it will take the efforts of three unlikely heroes to combat it. Buck Johnson is a young deputy who is in over his head, Dr. Reginald Cooper is a professor who specializes in the occult, and Pastor Nathan Kelly is a holy man who has done battle with Satanists before. Together they must figure out a way to stop this dangerous cult before they unleash an ancient evil, hell-bent on revenge, which left unchecked will destroy the town and all who reside there.
Barnes and Noble Summary
The characters were ok; I felt like I didn't get to know the characters that well. I would have liked to know more back-stories and traits. The plot was pretty interesting, but has been done before in different ways. I did like how the author carried tension throughout some of the eeriest scenes. If some of the scenes were more drawn out, I could see this story being a great book. This book is recommended as a borrow book to adult readers.
