An Ancient Secret Has Come To Life, And Everyone On The Planet Is At Risk...

Two months after being infected with a strange retrovirus, Cassidy Jones continues to live a double life while she struggles to master her newly gained superpowers. High school has become the only normal thing left in her life—except for tall, dark, and handsome Emery Phillips, who shadows her every move, making sure she doesn’t reveal her secret. Then an overnight sleepover at Catamount Mountain Zoo takes a menacing turn, putting everything at risk.

Goodreads Summary

This novel is the continuation of Cassidy Jones and the Secret Formula.  This book was just as exciting as the last.  I enjoyed Cassidy's character the most.  She is always so fun to read about.  She is inquisitive, compassionate, and exactly as a teen should be.  It's hard to write from a teen's point of view, the author does a wonderful job of it.  Emery is still the awesome male counterpart to Cassidy; again, it can't be easy to write from a male point of view, but the author makes Emery as masculine as they come.  Emery can make this book applicable to male readers as well.  The reader will enjoy watching their relationship slowly develop.

There is a Chewbacca encounter, flames, and love interests.  The author writes very fluidly, the transitions are solid.  The secondary characters are fun to get to know, the reader will love guessing at the pending mystery.  The events are fast-paced and high energy.  I wouldn't change a thing with the ending.  This book is highly recommended to young adults/teens.
