Romance, intrigue, and action collide in this psychic twist on the classic spy novel.
Callie Sinclair is literally out of her mind; as the government’s youngest psychic spy, she finds valuable information for top-secret missions. Her work keeps her headaches at bay, but it means she must lie to everyone she loves, including her longtime boyfriend, Charlie.
When a new psychic arrives at the office, Callie can’t help but flirt; Jasper already knows her in a way Charlie never will.
But as her love life gets more complicated, so do her visions. People halfway around the world seem to be in danger...and people in her own backyard, too. If Callie can’t find a way to alter future events, she could lose the people she loves—and her mind. Literally.
Lauren Sabel’s enthralling, romantic novel captures the thrill of exploring a unique power in a dangerous world.
Goodreads Summary
Psychic and paranormal themes seem to be running rampant in today's world and this book is no exception in all the right ways. Callie is happy in her life with her long term boyfriend and her job for the government as a psychic spy. Her life s turned upside down though when Jasper, a fellow psychic, arrives to work with her. She has so much in common with him and quickly falls under his spell. to complicate things further, she foresees 2 future events that she feels a calling to intervene with. One of them is near home, and one of them is half way around the world.
The premise and story of this book are exciting and captivating in a market that seems to be flooded with this type of story. What sets this book apart from the others was the combination of Callie being a psychic and a spy for the government. It kind of reminded me of the television show "Medium" where a Psychic helps the district attorneys office in Phoenix, Arizona. The author adds a little bit of scandal in the story by having Callie fall for two guys at once. What I liked about the story was that while she was interested in two guys, he isn't pursuing them both mindlessly to he point where she looses her own head. another great aspect of the book is that the author adds her great vivid imagination to the entirety of the book. Scenes are beautifully and uniquely explained, and feelings of the individual characters are portrayed in such a way that you feel as though you are living each event. This is definitely a book to look into if you are into the psychic paranormal genre.
