December 1
, 2014—PHILADELPHIA, PA—In March 2014, Quirk Books published Instagram sensation and border collie Momo’s first book, Find Momo (Quirk Books; $14.95), a collection of fun hide-and-seek photographs taken by his owner, Andrew Knapp. Quirk Books has fallen in love with this adorable dog and are big fans of his owner—so much so that Quirk will publish Find Momo Coast to Coast in May 2015. What Quirk appreciates about Knapp is his commitment to supporting local businesses and his dedication to promoting charities that use their funds to directly influence the lives and welfare of animals.
That’s why this year on Giving Tuesday—December 2, 2014—Quirk Books is partnering with Powells.com in the United States to donate $1 per sale of Find Momo to Farm Sanctuary (farmsanctuary.org) and with McNallyRobinson.com in Canada to support the Alberta Spay Neuter Task Force (ASNTF; abtaskforce.org).
Brett Cohen, president of Quirk Books, notes that “it’s important to Quirk that we give something back to the communities that support us. Both Powell’s and McNally Robinson are incredible bookstores with a wide community reach, and Farm Sanctuary and ASNTF do wonderful work with animal rights activism, a focus we know Andrew is passionate about.”
Of the endeavor, Knapp says that he has “always tried to find ways to leverage my projects for good causes. When Quirk contacted me about donating $1 to charity for each book sold on Powells.com and McNallyRobinson.com on Giving Tuesday, I was thrilled. And I will be matching Quirk Books’ donation by contributing my royalties for these sales on December 2, 2014.”
Please help us spread the word and share this initiative with your readers. For every sale at these two independent booksellers’ websites, Quirk Books will donate $1 to Farm Sanctuary or ASNTF. Animal lovers and book lovers alike can participate in making the world a better place, one book at a time.
