Goodreads Summary
Want to know more about the Amish? Lily, the main character, is happy to provide a younger reader about how life with the Amish is like. Life With Lily is a great book for ages 8-12; easy to read with clear sentences, even the younger readers will understand the plot and grow to love the characters with some adult help. There are illustrations detailing certain scenes throughout the book.
Lily is a fun character. The author writes from the perspective of a six-year-old and the reader will feel as if he/she is reading about a six-year-old. Each chapter has something new from meeting friends to completing chores to random adventures! The reader will receive glimpses about the outside world directly from Lily's own observations and questions. It is so interesting to read about how the Amish view the "English." The other characters are just as easy to like as Lily and the plot flows smoothly, making this a book that one can put down and pick up again at will.
