With the clock ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. After enduring Vaughn’s worst, Rhine finds an unlikely ally in his brother, an eccentric inventor named Reed. She takes refuge in his dilapidated house, though the people she left behind refuse to stay in the past. While Gabriel haunts Rhine’s memories, Cecily is determined to be at Rhine’s side, even if Linden’s feelings are still caught between them.
Meanwhile, Rowan’s growing involvement in an underground resistance compels Rhine to reach him before he does something that cannot be undone. But what she discovers along the way has alarming implications for her future—and about the past her parents never had the chance to explain.

Goodreads Summary
The last of the Chemical Garden Trilogy, Sever was an excellent novel. Rhine is on the move, searching for her brother with the help of Linden, Cecily, and Linden’s Uncle Reed. She has nothing but their help, questions, and sheer determination. Reed is an unusual man, but a mechanical genius who is despised by his brother Vaughn.
Through the course of this novel, Rhine finishes her journey into adulthood though she is on the run from a powerful, evil man and has an uncertain future. The many stories and questions that were presented in the first and second novels (such as what happened to Gabriel!) are answered in this final book, so I was extremely happy to finally get my hands on it. Vaughn, Linden, and Rose’s pasts are revealed as well, which was very interesting and explained a lot of the intriguing backstories.
Rhine is a multi-faceted heroine with unflinching loyalty for the people she cares about. I wish I had a friend like Rhine; she would have your back no matter what. Her dedication and inner strength drive her forward, without them, I doubt she would have survived the unexpected twist ending!

Glad to hear you like this! Although Wither was uber-amazing, I'm not a big fan of Fever. But Sever put a nice end to the trilogy, I personally think.
Nice review :)

I love this series! I've read the first two books but sadly haven't gotten around to reading the final book. Gosh, I can't believe I haven't picked it up. Your review makes me want to get this book ASAP! Thank you =).

- I'm a young college student who has probably read over 5000 books over the course of my short life; some of the books were classics, some of the books were terrific, and some of the books were...misses. Even with the latter part I will always believe in the power of books to completely remove the reader from his/her present reality. Long Live Books! I would love to read and review books from just about any genre. To contact me: edysicecreamlover18 AT gmail DOT com Thank you for your interest! At this time, I can only accept paperback or hardcover.
