Lili Peloquin

  This Side of Jealousy

Synopsis:
Nothing ever came between sisters Alice and Charlie. If by nothing, you mean everything. The sisters haven’t been able to stop fighting since they arrived in Serenity Point two weeks ago. Those two weeks changed their lives. And Serenity Point has changed them.

Friends didn’t. Charlie has a new group of friends and a new life. Jude and Cybill are beautiful, exciting, and dangerously seductive. And though Sasha is proving to be a friend and confidante to Alice, Alice can’t get away from the people, places, and events that mire her in the past.

Boys couldn’t. Alice loves Tommy, but the memory of Camilla, dead and gone, is driving a wedge between them. And Alice’s ex-boyfriend Patrick won’t give up on her, no matter what she says to keep him away. Jude is slowly giving up his bad boy ways for Charlie—but it’s not smooth sailing if Cybill has anything to say about it. And then Nick arrives: Dr. Van Stratten’s former intern seems to know things about last summer— things that Jude and Tommy would rather not be revealed. Alice is determined to find out what.

Their family falling apart never would. While the sisters grapple with the terrible truth about their family, the one-year memorial of Camilla’s death looms. The tension mounts and sparks fly as bright as July Fourth fireworks—and Alice and Charlie team up to find out the truth that everyone seems to be hiding.

Until they got to Serenity Point. Is Camilla their enemy and rival—even six feet under? Or is she their sister, whose memory they have to protect? And what really happened to her that night on the bridge? In a town built on secrets and lies, can the truth stay buried for long?

Absolutely not! I don't let my family really know anything because then they spread it around like its nothing. So nope.

Yeah, I guess. Not like, anything big, but I guess my cousin and I are pretty close and have a few "secrets."

Yes, I think everyone has secrets.

  1. My mom and I have a unique relationship where we don't keep secrets. I can talk to her about anything. I can talk to her about stuff she probably wouldn't approve of but she listens intently and offers sound advice despite her actual opinion on the matter... Other family members? Oh yeah, there are secrets.

Yes - especially with my twin sister!

Of course. No family is completely 100 honest all the time.

I'm pretty open with my family, but there are definitely things they don't know about me. If they asked, I'd be honest and tell them the truth. But there are just some things that not everybody needs to know.

  1. Although I do hide things from my family, I can't really say that it's keeping "secrets"; it's more of a containment of my feelings.

I'm not a good secret-keeper! :( So, no, not really. My family used to say there were 3 methods of communication... the telephone, telegraph and Tell-A-Brooke.

Yes I keep secrets but then again who doesn't. Thank you for the giveaway!

  1. My siblings and I have what we call "The Sibling Code" where we don't tell certain things to our parents and sometimes to other siblings. We used this more when we were younger.

  1. Yes, there are some secrets that we keep.

  1. Unknown said...:

it really depends on what the secret would be.. if it could make another family member mad i would.. im not in that situation right now, though

We keep secrets between family members.

I actually tell my family (my mom and sister specifically) more than anyone! I don't have any secrets with them :)

  1. Not really. I mean, my husband and I tell each other everything, and we don't necessarily tell our parents or other family members everything. But I think that's normal.

  1. My family is very close. We usually don't keep any secrets from each other. But it does depend on what it is. I'm sure my sisters have some things they keep to them self as do I. But overall no we don't keep very many secrets from each other.

  1. Unknown said...:

Yeah, unfortunately my family is a bit dysfunctional, so we definitely keep secrets. A lot of them.

  1. Unknown said...:

Of course. I don't think there is a family that tells 100% of their life.

  1. Unknown said...:

I'm really close with my family, but there are still some things that I keep to myself.

  1. Unknown said...:

Not at all...except for when it comes to gift giving. Like I may say i got someone an alligator for Christmas but obviously I did not! LOL.

    Yep, I sure do.

  1. Unknown said...:

    I'm pretty open with them.

  1. Of course. We respect each other's privacy.

  1. Christine N. said...:

Yes because they are personal matters.

Yea=s. Solid relationships are built on trust. If anyone has a secret it it theirs to tell.=; not a parent nor a sibling nor anyone else. If a family member is trusted, they can be a huge support but not otherwise.
