Seventh-grader Jonah Stone discovers that he is one-quarter angel--his mother is the daughter of a human and a fallen angel--and after she is kidnapped, Jonah and his sister, Eliza, must try to rescue her, with the help of prayers and a guardian angel.

Goodreads Summary

Jerel Law brought to life the stories of a brother and sister on a journey to save their mother.  Jonah and Eliza are ¼ angel, they are nephilim.  After their mother is kidnapped by fallen angels, the siblings must save her.  Throughout the book, scripture and prayer come into play.  This series is comparable to a religious version of Harry Potter or Percy Jackson.  The adventure appeals to a young audience, but the references to faith relate to older readers.

Learning about faith and religion by reading a fantasy, adventure novel is fun.  Younger readers find themselves considering issues they normally would not think about without hitting them over the head or pulling them outside their comfort zone.  Middle school aged children would enjoy this book.   I give it five out of five stars.
