The Twisted Tragedy of miss Natalie Stewart by Leanna Renee Hieber

Sunday, March 3, 2013

I'm coming for you.

The whispers haunt her dreams and fill her waking hours with dread. Something odd is happening. Something...unnatural.

Possession of the living. Resurrection of the dead. And Natalie Stewart is caught right in the middle. Jonathon, the one person she thought she could trust, has become a double agent for the dark side. But he plays the part so well, Natalie has to wonder just how much he's really acting.

She can't even see what it is she's fighting. But the cost of losing her heart, her sanity...her soul.
Goodreads Summary

If you haven’t read the first book, just know that this one is very, very dark. I’m not really into dark books… I get creeped out too easily, so I had a hard time getting into this one. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the plotline, but sometimes I had to skim because the parts got very dreary.

The main characters captivated me… the adventure plotline had twists and turns and I really enjoyed following what Natalie and Jonathon do. Natalie and Jonathan were the focus in the novel.  Their characters are easy to connect to and fun to root for.  Sometimes, the plot was hard to follow. It jumped in places and I had to backtrack and think “wait… what?” I got over it and moved on. It’s just a little quirk in the book that the reader might have to look past. Sometimes, I knew where the plot was headed, but it didn’t take away from the overall story. Even though this book isn’t my type of genre, I would think that people who do enjoy horror and suspense would like this book. This book is recommended to young adult/teen readers who don’t mind scaring themselves.

  1. I am a fan of dark and creepy. I am a little surprised that this one is so dark when I don't really remember the first being quite that way. In some parts, yes, but not as a whole. Anyway, this one is on my shelf and I can't wait to read it, but I think I need to reread the first one and refresh my memory first. Thanks for the review!

The plot sounds interesting, but I can't read books that are too scary! Scary movies are even worse! I'm such a wimp, after something super scary I think every sound I hear is a killer!

  1. Love a good creepy book, must read! Thanks for your review :)
