I used to adore horses when I was kids. This book reminded me of being under ten again and rediscovering the wonder of the simplicity of life with horses. There are so many things to be learned from horses: their calm and serenity, their simple joys in life, how they are elegant, etc... Award-winning author and celebrated neurosurgeon Allan J. Hamilton combines his understanding of the human brain with nearly 30 years’ experience training horses to offer wisdom on such universal themes as leadership, motivation, ambition, and humility. The results are showcased in more than 100 thoughtful essays that treat working with horses as a metaphor for personal, professional, and spiritual growth. Whether you’re searching for greater spiritual depth or simply want to better understand your four-legged partner, this wise and important collection has something for you.
Goodreads Summary
I used to adore horses when I was kids. This book reminded me of being under ten again and rediscovering the wonder of the simplicity of life with horses. There are so many things to be learned from horses: their calm and serenity, their simple joys in life, how they are elegant, etc... I do have to say that though the concepts in this book could easily be applied to people, they are aimed at horse people and those that spend a fair amount of time around horses. I loved the stories revolving around the horses. It made me want to spend more time with them and with the people who love them. I liked how wonderful the author's vocabularly is, that's rare to see in most books. I would recommend this book to any lover of horses or someone looking to broaden their horizons.

- I'm a young college student who has probably read over 5000 books over the course of my short life; some of the books were classics, some of the books were terrific, and some of the books were...misses. Even with the latter part I will always believe in the power of books to completely remove the reader from his/her present reality. Long Live Books! I would love to read and review books from just about any genre. To contact me: edysicecreamlover18 AT gmail DOT com Thank you for your interest! At this time, I can only accept paperback or hardcover. The finished review copies I receive are either kept in my personal collection or donated to several libaries, schools, or charities-I have no control over the finished review copies after donation. *I claim no ownership for any images used on this site.
