Dan Waters

Break My Heart 1,000 Times

Synopsis:

Living in the aftermath of the Event means that seeing the dead is now a part of life, but Veronica wishes that the ghosts would just move on. Instead, the ghosts aren't disappearing-they're gaining power.

When Veronica and her friend, Kirk, decide to investigate why, they stumble upon a more sinister plot than they ever could have imagined. One of Veronica's high school teachers is crippled by the fact that his dead daughter has never returned as a ghost, and he's haunted by the possibility that she's waiting to reappear within a fresh body. Veronica seems like the perfect host. And even if he's wrong, what's the harm in creating one more ghost?

It really depends on the book. If the book is done right, I love the Elizabethan/Victorian settings, but I also love the modern day paranormal settings-withing which I prefer big cities over small towns. It really does depend on the book though.

I like high school settings. I don't know why, I just do.

  1. If the story is done right it doesn't matter, but Victorian London and the early 1900's in New York are among my fav

  1. I like dystopian worlds. I like when worlds are as far from reality as possible.

My favorite setting is generally modern day, but with some sort of twist, like magic, zombies or some such thing.

  1. I LOVE when the setting of a book has the characters at a boarding school/Academy. I don't know why exactly but for me I just love it! Thank you so much for this fun and awesome giveaway!!

  1. Thank you!!

I don't mind where a book is set, so long as it fits the story.

A manor on a bleak, misty moor such as in WUTHERING HEIGHTS for example.

I've always liked modern urban fantasy, but lately I've also become a fan of dystopian settings (:

Hmmm... I like lots of settings, I mean, I get bored if they don't vary.

But... I have been loving Russian and Asian influences lately.

  1. I don't really prefer a specific setting, but I do like more old-fashioned settings :)

I love small town stories (probably because of the added drama) and Victorian. I know they're two completely different things, but that's my taste, and I'm sticking to it :)

I\m still not tired of post-apocalyptic worlds. :D

I'm not a fan of small town settings. Has a girl who spent her whole childhood and teen years in a small town, I can tell you nothing ever happens.

I but I do like books that take place in places I've been or states that are close to mine. I live in Colorado so any book that takes in Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, or Wyoming are awesome. And I also like Montana as well.

  1. I'm pretty good with all settings as long as they are in the future. :) Though specifically, I love cities!
