Richelle Mead's Storm Born #2 (Storm Born Comic)

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Eugenie Markham never asked for any of this. Until now, she''s been content with her job as a freelance shaman, battling and banishing Otherworldly creatures. When a prophecy suddenly makes her the Otherworld''s most popular bachelorette, Eugenie finds herself fighting off unwanted supernatural suitors, as well as the evils that begin emerging from her past...

Goodreads Summary

This comic begins with immediate action.  Right after Eugenie and Kiyo shared a tender moment, an icy creature attacks.  Shockingly, Kiyo attempts to protect Eugenie (the noble action, sure, but rare).  Eventually, Eugenie takes over with her shaman magic to completely annhilate the creature.  Kiyo runs out shortly after when Eugenie confronts him over his "sudden abilities".

Eugenie's bad luck isn't over yet-she encounters another creature who actually knows her name and states, "like calls to like."  She rids herself of the creature, but not before the reader realizes that she is questioning herself.  The reader learns much more about Eugenie in this comic; Kiyo becomes a person of interest as well as the reader learns that he is definitely not human and no lowly vetrinarian.  The reader catches a glimpse into her home life as well-Eugenie is well-loved and people worry over her.

This comic is a continuation of the first comic Storm Born and easily as good.  This comic is recommended to paranormal/romance/mystery readers.
