150+ Book Giveaway Jessica Khoury - US/Can

Jessica Khoury

Origin

Synopsis:

Pia has grown up in a secret laboratory hidden deep in the Amazon rain forest. She was raised by a team of scientists who have created her to be the start of a new immortal race. But on the night of her seventeenth birthday, Pia discovers a hole in the electric fence that surrounds her sterile home--and sneaks outside the compound for the first time in her life.

Free in the jungle, Pia meets Eio, a boy from a nearby village. Together, they embark on a race against time to discover the truth about Pia's origin--a truth with deadly consequences that will change their lives forever.

Origin is a beautifully told, shocking new way to look at an age-old desire: to live forever, no matter the cost.

  1. I like print books better. I think they're easier to flip through if I want to go back and look something up. Also, I don't have an e-reader.

  3. I love print books. Yes I have an e-reader and have tons of e-books but its not the same as having a print book in your hands. You get to turn the pages by hand. and I love the smell of a book. ok I'm starting to sound weird so I'll stop now. :)

  8. I prefer print copies mainly because I enjoy being able to physically hold the book. That's kind of a weird reason but printed copies have a more personal feeling. Printed seems more real than digital copies.

  15. While I will always prefer paper books, I've been reading a lot more ebooks b/c of the convenience. I'll always buy paper books b/c it's nice to have something tangible and I just love the look and feel of a book. But I've been relying on my kindle for work more b/c so it's easier to take than a paperback.

  16. Both have advantages and disadvantages. I like ebooks when I'm on the go and stuck some place, like a doctor's visit or waiting to meet someone. It's easy to just flip open my phone, open the app, and read a book. But I love reading print books right before I go to bed. It's nice to flip through the pages and it doesn't give off a glare, which often causes headaches for me. So yeah, now I rely on both.

  18. As much as I love my Kindle and Nook apps on my tablet, I have to say I love print books so much more. There is something great about having a book to hold.

  19. I prefer physical books all the way. I like the feel of holding a book in my hands, being able to feel the paper, smell the pages, and display it proudly on my bookshelf for all my friends to admire and envy :)

  20. I prefer to read print books. I have a Nook and when I bought it I thought cool I can get my books instantly. But then I noticed the E-books are practically the same price as print and sometimes more. I keep my books and have built up quite a library of them. I just love the feel of the book, love looking at the covers, flipping through the pages, the smell of a brand new book. So definitely LOVE print books over e-books!

  21. I definitely prefer print copies because then I can show the books off on my shelf. I love letting others borrow them too! :)

However, I like ebooks that are search compatible, so that I can look for a certain section with ease.

  26. I like print books better. I like to physically hold the book.

  27. I just got a Kindle last week, so I'm still getting used to ebooks. I think I still like print better, because it's so much easier to judge how much I have left when I can look at the pages. I like knowing how big the book is, and it's harder to tell on ebooks. However, it is easier to get ebook copies from the library, so that's a plus.

  28. I like print copies. Bookshelves are way more impressive and comforting than a loaded ereader.

  36. Print copies! I love the feel of them and the smell!

  37. When buying books, I'd prefer print copies for the smell and texture, as well as to drool over the pretty covers. But I like the fact that e-books exist because eventually books go out of print, and at least e-books exist as a back-up.

  38. I love both! I read print books at home and like that it's easy to flip back to check or re-read something (not so easy with a reader) and love the covers, but I have a reader and a tablet that I always carry when we travel - so convenient!

Paper books usually take it stride.

  43. I still prefer physical books, but I love having my Kindle when I travel so I don't have to limit myself on how many and which books to bring with me (especially when I am going on a long overseas vacation).
