Our families holiday tradition is to gather at my parents house, no matter which holiday, and eat a lot of awesome food and spend lots of amazing time together. It may not be any kind of unique or cool tradition, but it is ours and I love it!

It use to be the family got together and Mom cooked all her famous recipes, but last year was the last year for that. My Mom can't be on her feet that long anymore, so this year I'm cooking for the family. I just hope I can do half as good as Mom!

Christmas is the only time of year I really do a lot of baking. I mean a LOT of baking. I like to have about 25 different kinds of cookies. I make them up on Christmas trays and give them as gifts to those that are in my life that I appreciate - the neighbors, the mailman, etc. The family goes wild too. To get this many cookies though, I usually start around the 20th of October and make good use of the chest freezer.
