I think that the books anyone chooses to read are their personal choice and nobody has a right to dissuade others from reading a particular book just because they don't approve of it.
If you really feel that your child shouldn't be reading a book. Then that is your choice, but don't take away the book from every child by having it removed from a school library.
That's a tough subject. Some books I see it would benefit the child to learn more about it, but on the other hand I don't want my child reading Fifty Shades of Grey. I guess it depends on the book and subject matter. Thanks for sharing and the giveaway.
I don't think most books should be banned; I think that people should have the freedom to read what they want. I think parents should be able to censor what their kids read a little bit when they're younger, and elementary school libraries should be able to ban very inappropriate books for little kids such as 50 shades of grey. Overall though, when people get older they should be able to choose what to read.
As a high school librarian, it is something I constantly fear. I choose what I think my students want to read. Please don't make that choice for everyone.

Lastly, the parents that want books banned for violence and strong language are so naive. If your kid is going to a school with other kids or sporting events with other adults or has access to TV or movies, they are being exposed to those things. Acting like they don't exist will not make it so.
I don't think that books should be banned. I think that you should either not read it if you don't like it, or write something with your own opinions (which someone else will likely not like!)
I feel like some books have no need to be banned. The only thing that I agree with why a book is banned is the book content not being right for the age group. :D
I totally could not believe some of the books that have been banned... Honestly, I don't think any book should be banned for any reason. People should be able to choose for themselves what they want to read.

We can only banned what we read. For anyone else, it's up to their choise. We can only advise on what the book really are from the review. So if in doubt, ASK!

It depends on what book.Like at my end,a conservative country,it is alright to ban books as long as it is my own child.Educating my kids is my primary concern.But,as an adult,I have all the right to choose on what sort of book I want to read.

I don't think books should EVER be banned, most especially not by these tiny (or even big, sometimes) local school districts and sometimes even public libraries who wish to keep kids' minds closed and narrow. It's shameful!!
i think banned books are silly, i think in fact it can make a book more popular, some of my favorites are banned books but i didn't even know they were banned

I don't like the idea of banned books--I have the right to read what I want, and I think everyone should have that right. As to banning in schools and libraries, I think it should be the parents' choice on what their children can or cannot read.
I'm strongly against banning books. If you don't agree with something that is in a book, don't read it, but you you have no right to keep others from reading it. Parents have the responsibility of knowing what is right for their own kids, but not others kids. I'm a school psychologist and I am always telling parents and people in general, if you are concerned about what is in a book, instead of forbidding your kid to read it, read it yourself!!! Your kid, or your kid's friends, or classmates are going through all of these things (well except for maybe being a vampire ;) ), so instead of making the topics taboo, talk to them about it. Talk about why it is a bad decision for two characters to have sex too soon.
