Praise for Code of Silence: 'Deliberate, plausible, and gritty whodunit.' --Booklist Starred Review Taken! A detour through the park leads Cooper, Gordy, Hiro, and Lunk straight into a trap, and Gordy is abducted! For the kidnapper, it's all a game, a way to settle an old score, with no one getting hurt. But evil has a way of escalating, and once his identity is discovered, the rules change. Despite the best of police efforts, the hours tick by without a clue or a ransom call, leaving everyone to their own fears. Gordy is gone. Cooper descends deeper into a living nightmare, imagining the worst for his best friend and cousin. Hours stretch into days, and talks of a memorial service begin to surface. But Cooper still feels his cousin is alive and develops a reckless plan, changing all the rules. Now the one who set out to rescue his friend needs to be rescued himself. Sometimes rescuing a friend from darkness means going in after them.

a main character dying in the middle of the book and not coming back
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure but I'd have to say, most I guess. In one book recently, a main love interest died suddenly in the middle of the book. I was not expecting that.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the others... the biggest plot twist I have ever seen is a main character dying in the middle of the book. It's hard to imagine a book coming back from that lol
ReplyDeleteI hate to sound like a broken record but, I would have to agree with what they all said. If the main character dies, even on TV, nothing surprise me anymore. I usually figure it out before hand. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIronically, the biggest plot twist for me to read is when there's actually no plot twist when I really expect one.
ReplyDeleteA plot twist that i have read was when a girl's enemy turns out to be her sister.
ReplyDeleteI think the biggest twist I read was when a character gives up her life that she has lived for a year to go back in time and stop her friend from killing herself and takes her place as dead
ReplyDeleteI just read a book that had multiple plot twists that led nowhere. SO frustrating ...
ReplyDeleteI have read too many books to answer that question.
ReplyDeleteI world have to skim over several books to recall the biggest twists.
The villain dying a very disappointing death.
ReplyDeleteVampire Knight by a long shot. If you've seen the anime, then you know what I mean. But there are several more plot twists within the manga. I just love it when an author can keep me guessing.
