100+ Book Giveaway Julie Kramer

Julie Kramer

   Shunning Sarah Giveaway

An insular Amish town . . . A secret that won’t stay buried . . .Minneapolis’s star investigative reporter Riley Spartz is constantly in search of her next TV sweeps piece. When she hears that a young boy is trapped at the bottom of a sinkhole, she smells ratings. Little does she know just how big the story will be—not only does it involve a tragic murder, but the local Amish community as well. Once Riley is on the case, though, she sees that solving it will be anything but easy.

When Riley finds a clue the cops have missed, she uncovers a dark web of fraud and deception in the community—driven by motives as old as the Bible: sex and money. Riley will stop at nothing to bring the killer to justice, and she is determined to do so before anyone—including herself—becomes the next target.

Runner Up:

Stalking Susan & Missing Mark

Giveaway

Inside the desperate world of TV news, a reporter discovers a serial killer is targeting women named Susan.Riley Spartz is recovering from a heartbreaking, headline-making catastrophe of her own when a Minneapolis police source drops two homicide files in her lap. Both cold cases involve women named Susan strangled on the same day, one year apart. Riley sees a pattern between those murders and others pulled from old death records. As the deadly anniversary approaches, she stages a bold on-air stunt to draw the killer out and uncover a motive that will leave readers breathless.

In this page-turning sequel to Stalking Susan, TV reporter Riley Spartz pursues a curious story of a bride left at the altar and finds herself caught in a dangerous missing-person case. When Riley Spartz sees a want ad reading “Wedding Dress for Sale: Never Worn,” her news instincts tell her that the backstory might make an intriguing television sweeps piece.

The groom, Mark, last seen at the rehearsal dinner, never showed up for the wedding, humiliating his bride, Madeline—and her high-strung, high-society mother—in front of 300 guests. His own mother, eager to spare him further embarrassment, waited weeks before filing a missing-person report and then learned how difficult it is to get police, or the media, interested in missing men.

Now Riley is up against a boss who thinks that finding a famed missing fish will net the station higher ratings, a meth cartel trying to assassinate a K-9 dog because of his powerful nose for drugs, and a neighbor who holds perpetual garage sales that attract traffic at odd hours.

When her missing-person case leads to a murder investigation, Riley discovers a startling motive for Mark's disappearance—and a TV exclusive guaranteed to win the ratings . . . if she lives to report it.

  2. Technology! I think that would be the hardest part. And to change some of my habits and lose my freedom would be hellish.

  3. My clothes. A dress is fine for those occasions when I want to feel pretty, but to do those heavy dresses everyday forever, I'd be missing my jeans so fast.

  4. I think I'd miss free time the most. I'm thinking about how I probably wouldn't have the luxury of meeting friends for lunch and going shopping or to a movie on weekends or spending an entire day reading since there would always be work to be done.

  6. Catholicism. Lol. Hmmmm, I suppose I would miss the freedom I have being Catholic. I'm able to use my own judgement as to what is Christian. It's not a strict rule system that I must not EVER violate. I couldn't live that way. I'm too opinionated.

  11. Being without electronic things I'm use too. I would think would be the hardest. I guess being told I can't read or listen to certain music. Not that mine are bad.

  20. Thanks for entering. As for SHUNNING SARAH, TV and the Amish...you'll find from reading my book that the Amish consider TV to be the devil's tongue.
I grew up on a family farm near some Amish and spent a career in TV news. SHUNNING SARAH was my way of combining both parts of my life. Flashy TV news vs. the reclusive Amish leads to conflict and conflict leads to good story telling.

  22. I think I'd probably miss internet the most. I have had to do without electricity enough times (camping and during power outages) that I could manage that, I can do without a phone since I live so close to my family, I love farming and horses and grew up doing both so that isn't a problem. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
