Glynna Greer came west as a mail-order bride and ended up in a bad situation. Now her husband, Flint, is dead, and she's determined to care for her son and daughter on her own. She wants to believe Dare Riker is as decent as he seems, but she's terrified to lock herself into another marriage. She plans to support her small family by opening a diner—never mind that cooking is not her greatest talent. The men in Broken Wheel, Texas, are so desperate for home cooking that they seem willing to overlook dried-out beef and blackened biscuits.
Glynna can't help but notice that danger follows Dare wherever he goes. There's the avalanche. And then the fire. But things really get out of hand when someone plunges a knife from Glynna's diner into Dare's back. Are Flint's cronies still plotting revenge? Is Glynna's son engaged in a misguided attempt to protect his mother? Is a shadowy outsider still enraged over past injustices? And can Dare survive long enough to convince Glynna to take another chance on love?
Goodreads Summary
I loved the level of suspense in this book. I felt like the author was consistently altering details and changing the theme of the plot. Dare is the typical charismatic hero; the reader will instantly find him/herself drawn to him. Are male order brides ever a good idea? Gylnna decided to give the concept a try and ended up in a marriage she would have rather avoided. When she meets Dare, she really want to get to know him better, but will her past relationship taint her future ones? Glynna has a family, her children, who she loves dearly and wants to keep healthy and happy for as long as possible. The reader will relate to Glynna's need to keep her loved ones safe. The fact that danger seems to follow Dare everywhere makes it difficult for a romance to easily blossom. I rooted for Dare and Glynna to end up together throughout the book.
I loved how the authors developed the characters. I felt as if the author was slowly introducing us as the book continued rather than throwing the reader into the middle of the story. The story's plot was filled with excitement-just as the summary suggests-and I loved the suspenseful undertones. Overall, this book is recommended to adult readers.

Harvest at Heather Creek Farm is an exciting time, but the children don't seem to be getting into the spirit. Charolette sets out to uncover the truth. The family learns about the love that binds them together.
Goodreads Summary
This is a really cute series and a good reads for the Fall. It's always difficult to lose a close relative, but it's even harder to lose a mother. The children are adjusting slowly to living with their grandparents and getting used to farm life. I really liked the family dynamic. I thought that the author(s) captured the concept very well even in a difficult situation. I felt horrible that the children lost their mother, but really loved that their grandparents so clearly cared for them. Even though they didn't all immediately come together as a close family, I could tell that they all would eventually. A mystery helps pull the threads of the family together. The storyline was very sweet and I got to know each of the characters on a personal level.
I really think that this book would be perfect for a rainy car ride or commute. The ending is heartwarming and the characters are well developed. This book is recommended to adult readers.
